Before we begin, does anyone want to get off? Nothing good ever happens to super heroes in elevators. Nothing!
The babies in the NICU may not have known who we were, but the families did, the big brothers and sisters were very happy to see us. What we do for the most vulnerable of us, matters the most.
I do not have the words ... nurses are just the best.
It has been a long time since someone asked me to be in a parade. I was honored to be a part of this fantastic community event.
We met up with some of Santa's helpersQ

Silent Observer hosts an event for the kids at DeVos Children's Hospital on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. I try hard to make every one of these events.
A very fun annual event where I get ruthlessly soaked by kids with squirt guns. It's a good time to benefit some great kids.
Pictured with an amazing author, Jean Davis. I probably said something inappropriate when this was taken.
A spooky themed event, on a very hot day.
BrazenMonkey by John Marks ... this man is a visionary. He creates on a large scale. He and his partner, Jen, travel to a lot of conventions all year round. Visit his Instagram page to find out what he is up to and see his amazing work.

My family with Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots is a charity near and dear to my heart. When you don't have much, you appreciate what you have ... and you appreciate those who help. I'm a former member of Military Intel through the US Navy. What the Marines do all year round for kids in need, it's as heroic as it is honorable. Please visit their website and see how you can help. I don't know who this is, but she made a very lovely dress that reminded me of something you might see on Firefly.

I let Wonder Woman hold the bow, and my bow buddy, Merida found it amusing.
Xena and Hawkeye about to mess some stuff up!
No one takes a group photo quite like Beetlejuice.
The rain that night was crazy, but it didn't dampen our spirits.
There are a lot of kids out there who really miss their moms or dads when they're deployed in service to our country. This event is a small way that we can say, we miss them too, and you're not alone.
I love it when kids want to talk about archery.
Heroes in the community, and the smell of manure... everywhere.
Making friends at an event that raises money to help people with different disabilities live life with some independence and dignity. I was honored to be an invited guest.
This is why we do what we do. The league's primary function, is to visit kids in hospitals. We raise money to make care packages to give out to the kids. When we say, be the hero someone sees today... this is what we are talking about. These kids get tired, they get scared, they lose hope. When we show up every two weeks, we bring toys to play with, books to read, things to do... and hope. We say, if you don't have the strength, you can have some of mine. This is all for them. LEAGUE OF ENCHANTMENT
Merida, my bow buddy, and I spreading hope and smiles at Sparrow Hospital. LEAGUE OF ENCHANTMENT
During the summer the Grand Rapids Public Library asks for volunteers to help with reading events in the local parks. I'm very grateful to be one of those volunteers. Children remember the time that you spend reading to them. Read to your kids.

If you are, the company you keep. I'm a better man for knowing the Baroness. The only thing bigger than her smile, is her heart. Photo by Dustin Velkema
Have Camera Will Cosplay took me aside for about 2 minutes and took some incredible pictures. I used to cosplay as the Punisher, I don't anymore due to white nationalists trying to hijack the skull symbol. I hate and denounce white supremacy and see it as one of the biggest issues in our society today.
Our Wonder Woman, mother to everyone in the League. Our vice president. A warrior and fighter in so many ways. She embodies strength and love. I'm lucky to call her my friend.
Ed has a lot of Cosplays but his Shredder is one of my favorites.

Special thanks to Belle Bunni Designs for making my sparkly Breast Cancer Awareness Hawkeye shirt. It was a big hit.
I was very honored to be asked to participate in this special event. Over 2,000 guests got to show off their costumes and do a little early trick or treating.
Holding on tightly to the amazing Badger teddy bear that Midknight custom made for me. It's wonderful and I love it.
